Step-by-Step Wedding Planning Mapped Out For You

First Steps of Wedding Planning

Are you trying to help your daughter plan a wedding and finding yourself in the role of the wedding coordinator?

As your daughter’s wedding planner, it’s up to you to find out the wishes of the bride, work out a budget, find a venue, contact vendors, set up contracts, and get everything done on time.

It’s enough to make your head spin!

You feel pulled between wanting to give your daughter the wedding of her dreams and knowing you have spending limits.

Perhaps you love to make things and want to do all the decorations yourself, but are not sure what other things need to be done or what you might not be thinking of.

I can so relate! I’ve been there!

If you are like me, we were trying to do the wedding on a budget, so hiring someone to do the wedding planning for us was out of the question.

My daughter and I had to figure out how to plan the wedding ourselves within our budget constraints, so we tried to do as much DIY as we could.

My daughter bought a big planner and several books about weddings.
They were somewhat helpful but were designed to cover every single option, up to the extravagant.

It was overwhelming.

I just wanted something simple, with simple steps to follow for lower budget weddings, with simple forms and checklists.
I ended up making my own notebook of plans and checklists as we went through the wedding planning process together.

After going through this twice, with two different daughters and two very different weddings and timelines, and learning so much along the way, I wanted to share what I learned with other new mothers of brides.

Based on my experience, I designed a special step-by-step wedding planner, that takes you and your daughter through all the steps needed from the engagement to the honeymoon.

This step-by-step system is called The Serenity Wedding Planner.

It’s laid out in chronological order, so all you have to do is go through the steps in order. You can also rearrange the order of the steps if you desire.

Because it’s a printable download, designed to be in a 3-ring binder, you can remove any steps you don’t need or insert any additional pages you want.

It comes with 8 different timelines to choose from. The timeline is designed to be set up as a checklist to put in front of your binder so you can easily see your progress. An index is also provided so you can quickly find a form or checklist by category.

Budget savvy tips and suggestions are scattered throughout the planner, as well as some wedding budget examples in the bonus materials.

Here’s what my daughter and son-in-law wrote to me after her wedding:

Dear Mom,
We cannot possibly express how incredibly thankful we are for everything you did to make our wedding so beautiful. You gave so much of your time and finances to make our day perfect and saying thank you doesn’t feel like enough. You were the wedding planner extraordinaire, throughout our almost 2-year engagement and took on so many other roles from decorator to coordinator to your actual title as Mother-of-the-Bride. We may not have our excuse to meet every week now, but now we can play games instead of planning and scheduling every possible detail! Thank you for giving us such a perfect day!” — Rachel & Matt

Your daughter may also be forever grateful to you for helping plan her wedding.
